The information was reported by the correspondents of the Vietnam News Agency in Central and Eastern Europe.

Although over the past time, the COVID-19 pandemic in countries in Central and Eastern Europe has been developing seriously andhas directly affected life and business of the overseas Vietnamese, with the spirit of solidarity and affection towards the homeland, they still actively donate to support flood victims in the central region.

So far, the Overseas Vietnamese Association in the Czech Republic has presented over 1.6 billion VND donated by the Vietnamese community in the country to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee to support seven central provinces of Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue, Quang Nam and Quang Ngai.

According to Vietnamese Ambassador to the Czech Republic Thai Xuan Dung, the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic has continued to promote solidarity with the homeland. They have made efforts to raise funds to support people in Central Vietnam to overcome the consequences of natural disasters. The act is very meaningful, expressing the hearts and responsibilities of the overseas Vietnamese towards the people in the country.

Mr. Hoang Dinh Thang, President of the Union of Vietnamese Associations in Europe and member of the Presidium of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, shared that over the past time, the Vietnamese community in Europe, including the Czech Republic, has actively launched donations, joined hands with the people in the country to support residents in Central Vietnam in many different ways. This shows the tradition of solidarity and mutual love of the Vietnamese people in difficult times.

Meanwhile, the Overseas Vietnamese Association in Poland has collected over 1.3 billion VND within 10 days of launching a fundraising drive to support Central Vietnam. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the large Vietnamese trade centres and markets in the capital Warsaw or provinces and cities of Poland have had few customers; their income is reduced dramatically, but overseas Vietnamese still actively make donations. They believe that their current difficulty is negligible compared to the losses that the people in the Central region are facing. At the same time, they are always interested in encouraging those whose relatives are in the central region, damaged by floods and landslides.

The Overseas Vietnamese Association in Poland has set up an Executive Board to raise funds and regularly discuss and update information online to propose suitable plans. The association also established a delegation led by Ms. Nguyen Viet Trieu, Vice Chairwoman of the association, to directly visit and give relief to a number of schools, repair bridges and roads in some locations in four central provinces of Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, and Thua Thien Hue.

Chairman of the Overseas Vietnamese Association in Poland Tran Anh Tuan thanked the overseas Vietnamese community for their most beautiful gestures to support the program "For beloved Central Vietnam" as well as sharing the losses with the residents in the Central region./.
