Answering the interview of the Vietnam News Agency correspondent in Tokyo, Ambassador Vu Hong Nam said that although the lives of all people are disordered while their incomes are reduced, the Vietnamese community still keeps calm and patient and rightly abides by the instructions of the host country and the government of Vietnam.

Therefore, the number of Vietnamese infected with SARS-CoV-2 in Japan is small. With the support from the health system, hospitals and the government of Japan, a number of Vietnamese contracting COVID-19 have recovered again and returned to the normal life.

Mentioning difficulties of the Vietnamese community in Japan, the ambassador said the majority of them come to Japan to work or study. The pandemic has brought all activities and jobs in Japan to a standstill. As a result, those who go to Japan to work, especially working for medium-and small-sized enterprises, meet various difficulties because the enterprises closed.

However, in the difficult time, the Vietnamese community has upheld the tradition of mutual help. Vietnamese students, who can’t get a part-time job to support themselves, are offered free accommodation and presented a certain sum of money to meet their daily needs by sponsors.

The Vietnamese Embassy in Japan has mobilized associations and sponsors to contribute and support Vietnamese citizens in difficult circumstances.

The embassy has called upon all members from Vietnamese representative agencies to donate one a salary day each to contribute to the common effort of the community in Japan.

Ambassador Vu Hong Nam believed that with the support of the community, all Vietnamese people in Japan will overcome the current difficult period./.
