Vietnamese in US launch campaign to help Vietnam fight COVID-19

Amid the complicated development of the COVID-19 pandemic in Vietnam, nearly 20 organizations of Vietnamese experts and communities across the US have launched a campaign of joining hands for Vietnam – No COVID-19.

The campaign is launched to call on millions of Vietnamese people in the US and many countries around the world to raise funds for provinces and cities that are heavily affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, such as Da Nang, Quang Nam and Hai Duong.

Specifically, from August 16 to 23, the organizing committee will receive support from sponsors and all amounts of support will be updated at the end of each day. From August 24-30, the Organizing Committee will use the donation money to buy medical equipment and directly present it to individuals and organizations in COVID-19 hit areas.

According to the organizing committee, all fundraising money will be used to support medical equipment including hand-washing machines and liquid, protective clothes for health workers to prevent the spread of pandemic in hospitals and public places in pandemic-hit areas in Vietnam. The funds will also be used to support quarantine sites and employees losing their jobs due to the impacts of COVID-19.

The organizations accompanying the campaign include: the Vietnamese Youth and Student Association in the US, Network of Vietnamese Experts in the US, Vietnamese Family Association in the US, Vietnamese Expert Association in Technology Business, Vietnamese Expert Association in UX -PM, Vietnam Financial Community, Vietnamese Entrepreneur Association in the US, Network of Vietnamese Female Experts, Vietnamese Motherhood Association in the US and Vietnamese Intellectual and Scholar Community.

The organizing committee hopes that the donation of the Vietnamese community in the US and many countries around the world will contribute more strength to help the homeland to overcome this pandemic./.
