Vietnamese students in Australia give ideas to promote industrial development

The final Gala of the UAVS Hackatrix 2021 technology idea development contest took place successfully on October 3, introducing 5 highly creative and practical science and technology projects, contributing to the system of technological solutions, and to economic development in the digital era.

According to the Vietnam News Agency correspondent in Sydney, this event is a continuation of the series of programs to support and create an academic playground for the Vietnamese student community in Australia held annually by the General Association of Overseas Vietnamese Students in New South Wales of Australia (UAVS-NSW).

Starting from July 2021, the UAVS Hackatrix 2021 technology idea development contest has an open scale throughout Vietnam and Australia for the first time. The contest attracted 301 individuals, divided into 69 teams.

After two rounds of selection, the final round of UAVS Hackatrix 2021 took place in the form of a live Gala night, conducted through the highly interactive online platform vFairs, attracting a large number of attendees.

At the final night, the five teams with the highest scores showed excellent performances on developing technology products, competing in terms of creativity, applicability and perfection of software to solve problems in the fields of health, society, finance-banking, services      and technology.

As a result, technology ideas related to hydrology and weather applied to Vietnam's agriculture by AnCV team, including 3 members from Da Nang University of Science and Technology and Vietnam-RoK University under the University of Da Nang, excellently won the first prize and a cash prize of 2,000AUD, 100% and 70% scholarships at FUNiX and MindX academies, respectively, and many other valuable prizes.

A representative of AnCV team shared that the idea of high-tech agricultural products that has been cherished by team members since two years ago. This is a valuable product for the community, with the expectation of creating a new process in agricultural production and access to high technology.

Mr. Nguyen The Anh, Chairman of UAVS-NSW, said that the UAVS Hackatrix 2021 contest will help incubate potential projects that can be applied to Vietnam's innovative economic technological era and connect the entire community of students, experts, businesses and government and private organizations with high expertise in the field of information technology.

Through the contest, UAVS-NSW wishes to create an international playground for all Vietnamese students, especially in the field of information technology, in order to improve knowledge and create opportunities to exchange and develop themselves./.
