In total, 30 foreign citizens, including Vietnamese students, participated in this event.
During the event, the students visited the Blood Transfusion Station of St. Petersburg City and donate blood for the needs of city hospitals. They met the honorary blood donors of Russia and St. Petersburg City, Head of the department of public relations and donation promotion of the station Stanislav Davydov. He said that blood donation helps save thousands of lives every year and expressed his pleasure because the average age of blood donors has been decreasing recently. More and more young people are becoming active citizens and donating their blood to those in need.
Secretary of the Executive Board of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union in St. Petersburg City Do The Manh, a student from the University of Technology, said that this is a very good initiative. In Vietnam, the traditional Youth Month is annually organized by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee to attract young people to participate in solving pressing social problems and providing social support. Vietnamese students studying in St. Petersburg City feel very happy, because although they are far from home they have had the opportunity to contribute and become donors. Hopefully, their blood will be useful in saving lives.
Over the past time, Vietnamese students studying at universities in St. Petersburg have always enthusiastically participated in the city's voluntary movements such as environmental cleaning on Saturdays, charity donations, etc. The active participation of the Vietnamese students has been highly appreciated by St. Petersburg Foreign Affairs Committee, creating a beautiful image of Vietnamese youth in this city./.
