Vietnamese tourism promoted in Greece

The Vietnamese Embassy in Greece on November 16 organized a tourism seminar themed "Charming Vietnam" at the headquarters of the embassy in Athens to introduce Vietnam's tourism potential and promote tourism cooperation between the two countries.

The seminar was attended by delegates from ministries, sectors and friends of the Vietnamese Embassy and over 10 major foreign travel companies in Greece.

Particularly, the Director of the Development Strategy Department under Greece’s Ministry of Tourism; representatives of the Office of the Mayor of Athens City and the Deputy Mayor of Attica City Hall attended and spoke about the potential of Greece's tourism development, as well as the cooperation the two countries are promoting to bring real benefits for people and businesses of both sides.

Speaking at the event, Vietnamese Ambassador to Greece Le Hong Truong said that the leaders of the two countries are always interested in and want to promote tourism cooperation, considering this a focus of bilateral cooperation and committing to strengthen it in the future.

The Ambassador said that the Embassy is trying to promote the signing of twinning relations between localities of Vietnam and Greece such as Edessa-Nghe An, Sparta-Hue, Patras-HCMC to promote cooperation in all aspects, including tourism; as well as building many programs to exchange business delegations attending seminars and fairs to create connections and promote business cooperation between the two countries.

At the seminar, representatives of two major travel companies, HG Invest and Vietravel, presented about famous landscapes, characteristics, situation, types, developing services and tourism potential of Vietnam.

At the event, the guests expressed their special interest in Vietnam tourism and raised many questions to the presenters about applying for a tourist visa to Vietnam, wishing to apply for visas for many countries in the region at the same time to facilitate movement.

Also at the event, representatives of HG Invest and Vietravel presented four major prizes including air tickets and travel experience programs at five-star hotels in Ha Long, Da Nang, Hanoi, and Ho Chi Minh City for guests to participate in the lucky draw.

Representatives of the two businesses also directly connected with the travel companies attending the seminar and recorded positive exchanges in order to deploy the cooperation between the two sides next year.

Within the framework of a business trip to Greece from November 17-20, representatives of HG Invest, Viettravel and the Vietnamese Embassy will attend the all-Europe Travel Fair Philoxenia in Thessaloniki city. The delegation will organize a booth displaying tourism advertising publications, Vietnamese tourism products and answering questions from visitors.

It is expected that the Embassy and the two companies will continue to coordinate to organize the 2nd conference to promote tourism cooperation between Vietnam and Greece in HCMC in the first quarter of 2023./.
