An art contest was organized by the Vietnamese Embassy in collaboration with the Overseas Vietnamese Association in Vientiane on the evening of October 20 to mark the Vietnam-Laos friendship year and the 92nd founding anniversary of the Vietnam Women's Union (October 20, 1930 - October 20, 2022).

With the theme "Women contribute to preserving the Vietnam – Laos special friendship", this contest was an opportunity for women from different organizations and fellow-countrymen associations to compete in singing and dancing, as well as in cooking and arranging flowers.
This was also an opportunity for women to meet and exchange, creating a healthy playground to strengthen solidarity in the Vietnamese community in Laos, contributing to building and consolidating the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two peoples of Vietnam - Laos and Laos - Vietnam.
Speaking at the contest, Ms. Vu Tu Oanh, Counselor and in charge of the Standing Committee of Community Affairs of the Vietnamese Embassy in Laos, said that this is a very meaningful activity, promoting the good tradition of Vietnamese women, as well as raising the role of Vietnamese women in Laos in general and Vietnamese women in Vientiane in particular.
According to Ms. Oanh, despite being significantly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, Vietnamese women in Vientiane in particular and in Laos in general have actively participated in humanitarian activities, mutually supporting each other in the community, and contributing to help the government and people of Vietnam and Laos in preventing and controlling the disease.
In addition, they also play a huge role in the family and society, contributing to the development of the family and society.
She hopes that in the coming time, the Vietnamese community in Vientiane will continue to have many activities in all fields to continue promoting the spirit of solidarity and mutual support to stabilize life, develop strongly, integrate and contribute to the beautiful country of Laos, and always look towards the beloved homeland of Vietnam./.
