(CPV) - To make each frame-house stand tall as Vietnam’s representative at sea, over the past 30 years, generations of cadres and soldiers of the DK1 battalion have overcome all hardships to firmly protect the sovereignty of the sacred sea, islands and the continental shelf of the country.

Spring on DK1 frame-house

The DK1 battalion was established in 1989 as the economic, technological and service cluster of the nation’s southern continental shelf.

Apart from being frame-houses for protecting the nation’s southern continental shelf, they play the role of research stations on hydro-meteorological and natural mineral resources, serving socio-economic development and people's lives.

They also offer shelter for offshore fishing vessels.

DK1 frame-houses are marks at sea that ensure maritime safety for domestic and international vessels passing by.

DK1 cadres and soldiers often work closely with the Vietnam Maritime Administration to ensure regular operation of the light houses.

After 30 years, modern frame-houses have replaced the old ones.
