Vietnam, Brazil increase comprehensive partnership

In the 31 years since its establishment, the Vietnam - Brazil cooperative relationship has been continuously developed in all areas, especially since May 2007 when the two countries set up comprehensive partnership.

Head of External Relations Department of the Brazilian Labor Party Valter Pomar visited Uncle Ho's fish pond in the Presidential Palace on September 18th, 2007, during his visit to Vietnam to enhance cooperation and exchange of experiences between the Brazilian Labor Party and the Communist Party of Vietnam.

Party General Secretary Nong Duc Manh signed the guestbook at the Brazilian Senate during his official visit to Brazil on May 29th, 2007.

On the occasion of the official visit to Brazil, on May 28th, 2007, Party General Secretary Nong Duc Manh attended the opening ceremony of the Brazil-Vietnam Chamber of Commerce in the city of Rio de Janeiro.

On March 7th, 2006, in the capital city of Brasilia, Brazilian House of Commons’ Speaker José Aldo Rebelo Figueiredo welcomed and held talks with National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Van An on an official visit to Brazil.


State President Tran Duc Luong visited the headquarters of Brazil's Embraer civil aircraft manufacturing company in Sao Paulo state, during his official visit to the South American country from November 16th-17th, 2004.

On March 7th, 2006, in the capital city of Brasilia, Brazilian Senate President José Renan Vasconcelos Calheiros met with National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Van An to pay an official visit to Brazil.

Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva welcomed and held talks with President Tran Duc Luong on an official visit to Brazil from November 16th-17th, 2004.

Politburo member, Hanoi city Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong received Vice Chairman and Secretary of the Brazilian Communist Party José dos Santos Carvalho Filho to visit and work in Vietnam, August 25th, 2003.

On the occasion of the official visit to Brazil, in October 1995, State President Le Duc Anh and Brazilian President Fernando Henrique Cardoso witnessed the signing of an agreement on economic and cultural cooperation between the two countries.
