The Ha Long International Cruise Port has greeted 35 cruise ships with a total of 52,318 passengers by the end of March of 2019.
Specifically, the harbor welcomed Celebrity Millennium and World Dream cruise ships bringing 5,793 passengers in December 2018. It also received Norwegian Jewel and Mein Schiff 3 cruise ships with 4,810 passengers on March 18th. These are among five-star international ships serving high-end passengers.

Currently, the harbor is completing construction of its inland port area. Once in operation, it will become the first specialized international passenger port in Vietnam capable of accommodating both domestic and international tourists.

In the near future, the port will provide a full range of utility services to serve the needs of travelers such as 24-hour convenience store and takeaway drinks, Tour Agent counter, money exchange services, and souvenir shops. Notably, the system of duty free stores with high-end products like wine, cosmetics, and jewelry will be put into operation.

Ha Long International Cruise Port is the first cruise port in Vietnam which is capable to host all of the world’s most imposing and advanced cruises travelling to Halong Bay.

Including 6 wharfs, of which 4 are dedicated to cruises and travel boats and 1 pier (with two wharfs) for heavyweight international cruises, the port is situated at the heart of Bai Chay Tourist Site by Ha Long Bay – a World Natural Heritage Site recognized twice by the UNESCO – thus a dreamlike tropical heaven for both domestic and foreign cruisers who come seeking for an enjoyable vacation on the bay.

It takes only five minutes to go from the marina to Ha Long market and Quang Ninh museum. In addition to Vietnamese tourists, foreign arrivals by luxury cruisers will be easier to move to domestic ships to explore Ha Long Bay.

The harbor officially operated in the end of 2018. The VND1.1 trillion-project is designed to accommodate ships of up to 225,000 DWT, with a total capacity of 8,460 people (including passengers and crew), and capability to serve two ships at the same time.

It is expected to help Quang Ninh soon achieve its target of receiving 16 million tourists by 2020. The cruise port will rapidly promote its advantages and affirm its important role in the development strategy of sea tourism in the province./.
