Quang Ninh applies science and technology application in OCOP product quality improvement

The application of sciences and technologies in building brands and developing OCOP products since 2010 such as developing production material areas, transferring technological advance, using intellectual property rights, labels, packages, bar-codes, as well as products traceability, has created outstanding results.

The OCOP program aims to develop products in line with improving the competitiveness of OCOP products. In particular, building brand of product is considered as a fundamental to improve their quality.

Therefore, the projects are implemented comprehensively and synchronously from the concentrated production areas (raw material areas). The application of advanced production techniques is transferred according to advanced processes to ensure food hygiene and safe. Particularly, professional units have attached great importance to establishing intellectual property rights, labels, packaging designs in order to develop production and expand markets.

There are many products that become famous OCOP products, such as: Phuong Nam early ripening litchi, Dong Trieu custard apples, Ha Long grilled chopped squid, Cai Rong fish sauce, Co To squid. After that products and product brands have been handed over to the locality for management and continue to develop.

One of the important highlights in developing the brand and improving the quality of the OCOP products is that numerous new technologies have been applied into manufacturing and processing the OCOP products. As a result, many problems in production technology have been tackled.

In addition, it has been constantly enhanced consulting to apply sciences and technologies in producing OCOP products. The Department of Science and Technology instructed local production units to register for protecting trademarks, goods labels, packaging designs, and bar-code. The survey and application of sciences and technologies in developing OCOP products are also paid with much attention, such as: sweet potato wine production technology in Hai Ha district, Dong Trieu custard apples intensive farming or the hi-tech application in growing orchid in Hoanh Bo district.

As the result, the science and technology application has contributed to creating brand and improving the quality of OCOP products, which are highly appreciated by consumers.
