Quang Ninh: Tourism businesses join hands to prevent COVID-19 pandemic

(CPV) – Right after Quang Ninh province has announced the suspension of a number of sightseeing and tourism services in the province, related tourism businesses all strictly abide with the spirit for the health of them and the community.

In the context of being heavily affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Quang Ninh tourism sector still affirms its beautiful image for tourists through timely assistance with specific cases.

Mr. Pham Ngoc Thuy, Director of the Quang Ninh Provincial Department of Tourism, said that in recent days, the department has focused on directing units, accommodation and service business establishments in the province to not discriminate against tourists. At the same time, they must well disseminate information to help visitors fully understand the regulations on disease prevention to strictly implement.

All accommodation facilities carry out body temperature measurement for tourists to prevent the spread of the pandemic. On March 11 and 12, information on social networks said that some foreigners coming to Ha Long by self-sufficient tourism mode face difficulty in finding means of transport to move to another province, the provincial Department of Tourism has coordinated with units to support them.

Currently, Ha Long city has suspended the activities of Sunworld Ha Long tourist area and cinemas in the city. Uong Bi city has stopped welcoming visitors at Yen Tu monumental area from 12pm of March 12 to March 26, 2020. Some restaurants voluntarily suspend their business activities to prevent the spread of the pandemic.

According to a report from the Provincial Department of Information and Communications, as of 5pm of March 12, the Quang Ninh Provincial Centre for Disease Control has tested for 1,310 cases; including 1,271 negative cases and 4 positive cases, which are all foreigners relating to flight VN 0054 and they have been transferred to the National Hospital of Tropical Diseases from March 8. Currently, the number of cases waiting for testing is 35.

Cases contacting to 4 positive cases on flight VN0054 previously moved to Quang Ninh province. The province has conducted tests for a total of 387 cases, including 360 negative cases and the remaining are awaiting the results.

A total of 20 cases contacting with patients infected with COVID-19 on VJ981 flight from the Republic of Korea to Van Don Airport are negative. There are two cases relating to flight QR.974 are negative to COVID-19.

At present, Quang Ninh province has 1,130 cases quarantined, including 71 cases quarantined at health facilities and 1,059 case quarantined out of health facilities./.
