This international event was organized by the Goethe Institute for the first time in 2004. This year’s festival will attract 163 works from 33 countries, with more than 1 million participants.

In Vietnam, the festival is co-operated by Goethe Institute and THD Education Solutions Co., Ltd., Center for Information and Forecasting, Vietnam Institute of Educational Science (EIFC), and Vietnam Institute of Educational Science (VNIES). This is the 10th year the festival is held consecutively in Vietnam. The Organizing Committee has selected 16 films out of 163 films submitted to the festival for screening in Vietnam.

In addition to film screening, leading experts also develop many learning activities, conveying scientific knowledge that accompanies each film.

Highly entertaining scientific films and experiments will arouse curiosity and critical thinking about issues related to the environment and natural sciences, thereby helping viewers, especially students, acquire scientific knowledge in a fun and easy way. Activities will be held at a number of schools in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City from October to December 2020.

The Organizing Committee will also cooperate with the General Science Library of Ho Chi Minh City to bring the Film Festival and hands-on experiment activities to many schools in some provinces in the North and the South to help children in remote areas have more opportunities to access festivals and international activities./.
