63 Vietnamese outstanding officials to be trained in Japan

As many of 63 Vietnamese outstanding officials will be sent to Japan to participate in Master's and Doctoral training courses at top Japanese universities.

Of these 63 outstanding young officers, 60 will depart for Japan in August 2019 to attend a master's course and three will attend a doctoral program.


All of them receive full scholarships of the Japanese Grant Aid for Human Resource Development Scholarship Program (JDS) implemented by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

On July 24th, in Hanoi, the Embassy of Japan in Vietnam, JICA Vietnam Office coordinated with the Department of International Cooperation under Ministry of Education and Training to organize a meeting with the 63 officials.

At the meeting, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Le Hai An said that Japan is currently the country with the largest number of Vietnamese students studying abroad. Over the past years, Vietnam - Japan relation has been promoted. The Japanese government always carries out practical activities to support human source development in Vietnam and strengthen cooperation between the two countries.

Mr. An also said that as of March 2019, after 19 years of implementation, 573 Vietnamese citizens have received JDS scholarships. Of those, 481 students completed the course, returning home and actively participated in contributing to the socio-economic development of Vietnam, as well as developing the Vietnam - Japan strategic relationship./.
