URAP 2020 listed 3,000 universities, an increase of 500 compared to URAP 2019.

In the URAP 2020, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) still maintains the No. 1 position among Vietnamese universities in the list and has risen to 639th in the world. Duy Tan University rose to number 2 and the Vietnam National University - Hanoi ranked No. 3 in Vietnam.

In the URAP 2019, TDTU also ranked 1st in Vietnam and 960th in the world. Domestically this year, TDTU still maintains its No. 1 position, and rises 321 places to rank at 639th in the world.

In addition to increasing 321 places compared to 2019, previously, TDTU also increased by 462 places compared to 2018. Thus, in just two years, TDTU has increased by 783 grades, and is the university with the most impressive rise in rankings in the world.

In the same ranking of TDTU are major universities of developed countries such as St George's University London (UK), ranked 637th; Kunming University of Science & Technology (China), ranked 638th; Utah State University (US), ranked 640th; and University of Canterbury (New Zealand), ranked 641st.

URAP uses data on academic achievements from all of the universities with statistics by the Web of Sciences, to conduct rankings. The criteria for quantity and quality of scientific works, indexes of quotations and scientific influence account for the largest weight in the measurement process.

As of December 2020, TDTU has been ranked in many prestigious international university rankings, including the top 700 in the ranking of the best universities globally by the United States Journal (US News 2021), top 800 in Shanghai World University Rankings (ARWU 2020), top 301-400 in the Global Most Influential University Rankings (THE Impact Rankings 2020), 163rd in the QS Asia Rankings 2021, and top 200 in the world's most sustainable university rankings (UI GreenMetric 2019)./.
