VASS - JICA comprehensive cooperation for Vietnam’s development

A Memorandum of Cooperation to enhance strategic and comprehensive collaboration for the development of Vietnam was signed on July 24th between the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Vietnam Office and the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS).

Accordingly, the two sides reaffirmed their long-term cooperation to facilitate further sustainable development of Vietnam. They are working together to prepare Vietnam’s Socio-Economic Development Strategy 2021-2030 (SEDS 2021-2030), the Provincial Socio-Economic Development Plan (P-SEDP 2021-2025) of the southern Ben Tre province and the northern Ha Giang province, and to study emerging countries in Asia.
In addition, JICA Vietnam Office will provide necessary supports to promote future collaboration in research activities between VASS and JICA Research Institute.
Over the past nine years, VASS has coordinated with JICA in different fields; supported the drafting SEDS 2011-2020 and the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong to formulate innovative policy model for the development and promotion of investment in agriculture.
JICA has pledged to continue its support for sustainable development of Vietnam through this cooperation with VASS./.
