Accordingly, the test kits researched by the Vietnam Military Medical University and produced by Vietnam’s Viet A Company have been posted CE marking (European standard) and the Certificate of Free Sale (CFS) in the EU and the UK.
The product, made public by the Ministry of Science and Technology on March 5th, has been used in Vietnam with good disease detection efficiency (100% sensitivity in samples of 5 copies or more).
This product has also been exported to Finland, Ukraine, Cambodia, Poland and some other foreign markets.
The product, researched and manufactured in Vietnam, obtaining CE and CFS certification will improve its competitiveness, especially in the EU market.
After being licensed by the UK Ministry of Health and Social Care, the Viet A Company’s COVID-19 test kit was exclusively bought by a partner to distribute in the UK, India, Mexico, the US and some countries in Europe.
In March, 20 countries negotiated to buy this kit. At first, the Viet A Company will export to Iran, Finland, Malaysia and Ukraine. Of which, Iran ordered 200,000 tests (4,000 sets) and Ukraine ordered 15,000 tests (300 sets).
In Vietnam, the Hanoi city People's Committee ordered 200,000 tests to use and to present to Italy.
Currently, the only method in the world recognized by WHO to detect SARS-CoV-2 is Real-Time RT-PCR. The Vietnamese test kit also used the Real-Time RT-PCR method. Mr. Phan Quoc Viet, General Director of the Viet A Company, said that it takes more than 2 hours to have the SARS-CoV-2 test result.
Currently, Viet A's production capacity reaches about 10,000 sets per day, which may be ramped up by as much as 3 times higher if possible, to fully satisfy domestic demand and for export, or international support./.
