14.3 million 3rd doses of vaccine injected in Vietnam

Over the past week, Vietnam has injected about 700,000 to 1.1 million third doses of COVID-19 vaccine per day.

According to information from the Ministry of Health, on January 12, 927,829 doses of COVID-19 vaccine were injected, raising the total number of doses of injected vaccine to 164,482,313, including 78,458,908 for the first dose, 71,707,029 for the second dose, and 14,316,376 for the third dose.

In recent days, Vietnam has injected about 700,000-1.1 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine per day as the third dose.

So far, nearly 100% of the population aged 18 and over have been vaccinated with at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine, and the number for the second dose is 92.8%. Meanwhile, the number of children 12-17 years old also reached more than 89.8% getting the first dose and 68% getting the 2 basic doses.

Previously, on December 17, 2021, the Ministry of Health issued Document 10722 on the injection of basic and repeated doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. Accordingly, the ministry allows the third dose of vaccine to be administered 3 months after the last dose of the basic dose; while people who recovered from COVID-19 were injected immediately without waiting 6 months as before./.
