This was part of activities marking the 90th anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26).

Addressing the program, Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and President of the Hanoi Young Pioneer Association, Ly Duy Xuan, confirmed that, continuing the brave spirit of the previous generations of youngsters, Hanoi youth had joined hands to build the capital city and country, through the movement “voluntary youth”.

“Through thousands of works, the capital's youth have made responsible, enthusiastic and significant contributions to implementing the city's political tasks, solving urgent social problems and joining hands for community life,” he said.

Through the exchange, Hanoi youngsters gained more understanding about Uncle Ho’s poem presented to voluntary youth 70 years ago.

On March 20, 1951, 10 months after the Youth Volunteer Force was born, Uncle Ho visited the Youth Volunteer Unit 312 on duty at Na Cu Bridge, Bach Thong District, Bac Kan Province. During the visit, he read four famous lines of poetry for the Vietnamese Youth Volunteers:

“There is no hard work at all

The only fear is inconsistent mind

Tunneling a mountain or filling up a sea

Setting our mind we will surely do…”

Over the past 70 years, President Ho Chi Minh's four lines of poetry have always been the recognition, admonition and trust of the Party and Uncle Ho for the Vietnamese Youth Volunteers, and generations of youth nationwide. This is a great source of motivation for the nation's youth to practice and contribute to the work of building and defending the country.

During the program, the Hanoi Ho Chi Minh Youth Union gave 10 gifts to former volunteer youth in difficult circumstances in Tay Ho District./.
