People's COVID-19 vaccine passports will be displayed on the electronic health book application, the PC-COVID application.

Vaccine passport is an electronic COVID-19 vaccination certificate signed by vaccination facilities and the Ministry of Health based on people's COVID-19 vaccination information. This passport uses standards issued by the World Health Organization and the European Union and is currently used in 62 countries.

As of May 12, Vietnam has signed agreements with 20 countries on mutual recognition of COVID-19 vaccine passports, including Japan, the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, India, Belarus, Cambodia, the Philippines, Palestine, Maldives, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Egypt, Turkey, Singapore, St Louise, the Republic of Korea, Iran, Malaysia and the Dominican Republic.

The representative of the Ministry of Health emphasized that people who have been vaccinated and have their data updated on the system by the vaccination facility, authenticated with the correct information with the national population database, will be digitally signed to get vaccine passport. People do not have to do any additional procedures but simply need to sign in to the PC-COVID application to check if they have a vaccine passport or not.

The Ministry of Health has requested localities to complete the update of authenticating information by June 1.

The ministry has also sent a document to the Departments of Health of the provinces and cities and units under the Ministry of Health to strictly ask medical staff and officials related to the work of electronic signing of COVID-19 vaccination certificates and vaccine passports to not to obstruct, cause difficulties or engage in self-seeking behavior in supporting people, ensuring the interests of people who are granted COVID-19 vaccination certificates and certified vaccine passports./.
