Deputy Secretary of HCM city Party Committee appointed as Secretary of Hai Phong

Mr. Quang accepted the new assignment from May 4, replacing Mr. Le Van Thanh who was appointed as Deputy Prime Minister.

Mr. Quang is 54 years old. He was born in Trang Bang town, Tay Ninh province. He is master in public administration and a mechanical engineer. Before returning to Hai Phong, he worked as an expert and head of Office of Foreign Economic Relations under the Tay Ninh Department of Planning and Investment. He worked as Deputy Head of the Managing Board of Moc Bai Tay Ninh Border Gate Economic Zone from December 2003 to July 2006 and Deputy Director of the Tay Ninh Department of Planning and Investment until August 2008.

From August 2008 to 2011, he held the position of Chairman of the People’s Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of Trang Bang district and became alternate member of the Party Central Committee (term XI) and Standing Deputy Chairman of the People’s Committee of Tay Ninh province.

In July 2015, the Politburo assigned Mr. Quang as Secretary of the Tay Ninh provincial Party Committee for the 2010-2015 term. At the 10^th Tay Ninh Party Congress (term 2015-2020), he was re-elected Secretary of the Tay Ninh Party Committee, and Chairman of the Tay Ninh People’s Council.

In February 2019, the Politburo appointed Mr. Quang as Standing Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh city Party Committee, replacing Mr. Tat Thanh Cang./.
