Hanoi proposes resumption of public bus and taxi services

The Hanoi City Department of Transport has proposed the Hanoi City People’s Committee to allow the resumption of public bus and taxi services in line with COVID-19 prevention guidelines.

Under the proposal, public buses and taxi using under-9 seaters are to be allowed to operate at 50% of normal capacity.
Operators are required to formulate their own COVID-19 prevention plans and measures to be taken when positive cases are detected as well as the arrangement of medical staff to deal with infections at the workplace.
Drivers and service workers must be vaccinated with at least one dose and tested for coronavirus once a week.
Up to now, buses and taxis in Hanoi have been forced to stop operating for nearly three months since July 18 due to the re-emergence of the COVID-19 epidemic in the city. Therefore, bus, taxi, and technology vehicle transport units in Hanoi are getting ready for the day of resumption./.
