Ho Chi Minh City administers COVID-19 vaccines for foreigners

On August 17, the Office of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee conveyed the opinion of Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Duong Anh Duc on agreeing to the policy of implementing vaccination against COVID-19 for foreigners living, studying and working in the area.

Accordingly, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Duong Anh Duc agreed with the proposal of the City's Department of Foreign Affairs on vaccination for foreigners in the city and assigned the Department of Health to allocate vaccine sources, and organize the implementation of vaccination programs for foreigners as soon as possible.

According to statistics from the embassies and consulates, there are currently over 200,000 foreigners living and working in the city. Recently, many foreign representative agencies have sent notes or through official contacts to express their wish to be supported by the city to vaccinate their citizens as soon as possible.

The City Department of Foreign Affairs assessed that vaccination for foreigners in the city at the present time is of great significance, showing the care of the city in particular and Vietnam in general for the foreigner community in the city, creating peace in their mind, contributing to stabilizing their lives and increasing contribution to the development of the city.

Over the past time, officials, diplomatic staff and many foreign citizens living and working in Ho Chi Minh City have been vaccinated against COVID-19 during community vaccination phases./.
