The team of experts is responsible for advising the Ho Chi Minh City Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control and the City Department of Health on developing and implementing a plan for care and treatment of COVID-19 patients in different stages, in order to minimize the mortality rate.

In addition, the team also advises the Ho Chi Minh City Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control and the City Department of Health on building a COVID-19 prevention and control model in each specific period; organizing remote consultations; giving training on the use of respiratory support methods and equipment in the treatment of COVID-19 in order to improve the capacity of emergency resuscitation for COVID-19 patients; and developing and implementing a care plan for people with COVID-19 isolated at home.

Currently, Ho Chi Minh City has adjusted the process for detecting emergency cases, receiving and transferring patients for greater efficiency.

In addition, the adjustment is also to upgrade and equip isolation facilities with treatment functions of districts; deploying more field hospitals in some districts and Thu Duc city, installing liquid oxygenation systems; upgrading field hospitals to improve treatment capacity; and ensuring that hospitals are fully equipped with oxygen and drugs. It also aims to mobilize more resources from private medical facilities participating in COVID-19 treatment./.
