Ho Chi Minh City receives support for COVID-19 prevention and control

On October 6, the Ho Chi Minh City Fatherland Front, and the City’s Committee on mobilizing, receiving and distributing the COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control fund, received food, materials, supplies and medical equipment worth more than VND368 billion for the prevention and control of the COVID-19 pandemic in the city.

Specifically, the people of Hanoi city donated 5,000 tons of rice worth VND75 billion; the Vietnam Prosperity Joint Stock Commercial Bank (VPBank) donated 2 million COVID-19 rapid test kits worth VND88 billion; the BRG Group Joint Stock Company and Southeast Asia Commercial Joint Stock Bank (SeABank) presented 10 29-seat cars and 1 million SARS-CoV-2 virus antigen rapid test kits with a total value of VND55 billion.

Enterprises including Sea Group, Duy Tan Plastics Limited Liability Company, and Mobile World Home Charity Fund; Dragon Capital Vietnam Investment Fund Management Joint Stock Company; and DKSH Vietnam Company donated ambulance cars, specialized refrigerators to preserve vaccines, many types of specialized machines used in the treatment of COVID-19 patients; testing equipment, ventilators and medical protective equipment with a total value of more than VND142 billion.

Representatives of the Republic of Korea’s GS E&C Company presented a number of ventilators, medical equipment, medical beds worth more than VND4 billion; and the US’ Project Vietnam Foundation donated medical equipment, drugs, protective gear and medical masks with a total value of more than VND2.6 billion.

At the reception, Ms. To Thi Bich Chau, Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City Fatherland Front, sincerely thanked and appreciated the support of businesses, organizations and units for the city’s COVID-19 prevention, affirming that the positive results in the prevention and control of COVID-19 marked an important contribution from the timely and enthusiastic support and assistance of the localities, organizations, enterprises and individuals at home and abroad.

She expressed her wish that, in the coming time, businesses in the city will continue to accompany and support the guidelines and policies of the State and Ho Chi Minh City, ready to deal with the development of the pandemic, in order to both ensure COVID-19 prevention and boost economic development./.
