Kien Giang province district places Uncle Ho statue on 8-hectare square

The Phu Quoc district People’s Committee in the southern province of Kien Giang has worked with the provincial Department of Culture and Sports to announce the planning of the central square and the construction of an Uncle Ho statue in Duong Dong town.

The square and Uncle Ho statue is planned on an area of 8.29 hectares, capable of welcoming 20,000 people.

It will be the place for political, cultural, tourism and community activities. The Uncle Ho statue, with a height of about 18 meters, will be built on an area of over 7,800 square meters. The remaining area of the square will be for the square yard, gardens, reception areas, service areas, supplementary construction, traffic land and technical infrastructure. 

As planned, the construction will begin in 2021, using a capital of VND353 billion./.
