Korean Consulate General and businesses support Ho Chi Minh City’s COVID-19 prevention

On October 11, the Ho Chi Minh City Steering Committee and the City Committee for mobilization, receiving and distribution of COVID-19 prevention and control received funding and equipment worth nearly VND6 billion supported by the Korean Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City and member businesses of the Korean Business Association (Korcham).

During the handover ceremony, Kang Myong Il, Korean Consul General to Ho Chi Minh City, appreciated the joint efforts of the city’s authority and people in pushing back the pandemic, and expressed his belief that Vietnam will soon overcome the pandemic and become a key country among the Asia – Pacific economies in the future. 

Showing gratitude to the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Ho Chi Minh City and Korean businesses for giving this meaningful gift, Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City Fatherland Front To Thi Bich Chau pledged that the organization will promptly allocate medical equipment to hospitals and medical facilities for pandemic prevention and control.

She added she hoped that businesses in general, Korean businesses investing and doing business in the city in particular, will always support and accompany the policies of the State of Vietnam and Ho Chi Minh City; adapting “to live safely with the COVID-19 pandemic” to safely reopen the economy, recover the economy, and move towards the new normal situation./.
