The Government leader has signed Decision 616/QD-TTg appointing Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet, PCC member and Political Commissar of Military Region 2, as Deputy Chairman of the General Political Department of the People's Army of Vietnam.
Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet was born in 1966, Thanh Quang commune, Thanh Ha district, Hai Duong province.
Before being appointed, Mr. Trinh Van Quyet is PCC member (term XIII), Secretary of the Party Committee and Political Commissar of Military Region 2. He is a Bachelor of Party Construction and State agencies.

Before 2015, he has been Political Commissar of the Military Headquarters of Ha Giang province, and Deputy Chairman of Politics of Military Region 2.
In 2015, he was appointed as Deputy Political Commissar of Military Region 2.
In May 2016, he was appointed as Political Commissar of Military Region 2, Secretary of the Party Committee of Military Region 2.
He was promoted to Major General in August 2016 and Lieutenant General in 2020.
On January 30, 2021, at the 13th National Party Congress, he was elected as member of the PCC for the 2021-2026 term./.
