The prevention of COVID-19 has been carried out at the highest level, while the safest measures have been implemented and all central level cadres attending the 13th National Party Congress have been tested negative for the disease.

So said Minister of Health Nguyen Thanh Long during an online meeting on the prevention of COVID-19 during the 13th National Party Congress with 63 localities and cities across the country, held on January 20.
Statistics released in the meeting showed that, as of January 19, the world reported over 96 million cases and 2 million deaths across 220 countries and territories.
According to the World Health Organization, the SARS-CoV-2 variant detected in the UK in December 2020 has spread to 50 countries and territories, while the variant detected in South Africa has also been detected in 23 countries and territories.
So far, Vietnam has reported 1,540 cases, including 35 fatalities.
Over 18,000 people are being isolated for preventing the spread of the pandemic./.
