Miss Universe Vietnam 2018 plants trees and inspires young generation in HCMC

(CPV) - Miss Universe Vietnam 2018 H'Hen Niê and Gaia on May 23 planted trees and organized a contest to learn about trees, and inspired the students of Nguyen Van Tang and Phuoc Long High Schools in Thu Duc city of Ho Chi Minh City.

Accordingly, Miss H’Hen Niê and the students from the two schools planted 30 large wooden trees, in order to shade the school yard, purify the air and contribute to greening the city.

In addition, nearly 1,000 students from both schools enthusiastically participated in the Tree Contest with H’Hen Niê and Gaia.

The Tree Contest helped the students understand more about trees in their own school, as well as the value and importance of tree planting. The program includes many fun quizzes with prizes and attractive school-wide games in a relaxed and fun atmosphere.

The participation of H'Hen Niê with stories about trees, made the atmosphere of the competition more joyful and lively. It is the questions and concerns about trees from the youth, helps Gaia to be more determined in organizing more planting and educational activities to the children, as they are the spearhead of the future in solving the problems.

Students and teachers were also carefully instructed in planting techniques. After planting trees, the students also joined H'Hen Niê and Gaia to measure the height and take pictures to monitor the tree. All plants will be cared for and monitored for 2 years to ensure healthy development.

The enthusiastic participation of Miss H'Hen Niê has brought positive green energy to all teachers and students in the school.

“Hen clearly sees that such activities as planting trees and educating students to raise awareness are really necessary, so that the next generation can protect trees and nature,” said Miss H'Hen Niê.

Planting trees in schools not only helps green the city and responds to climate change, but also creates a green learning space, promotes creative thinking and comprehensive development in children.

This program that is a part of the campaign entitled “Plant trees for a more brilliant summer". Gaia will plant a total of 78 large trees and educate more than 4,000 students at four schools in Ho Chi Minh City. Also within this campaign, Gaia will also plant thousands of large trees in Dong Nai Forest, in order to restore degraded forests and respond to climate change and create habitats for rare species./.
