National target program for development of ethnic minority areas to be carried out in first quarter of 2022

This is one of the key tasks in 2022 that he put forth at the conference to summarize ethnic minority work in 2021 and deploy tasks in 2022, which took place in Hanoi on January 19.

With a total investment of nearly VND138 trillion, this is the first time the program has been promulgated, once again affirming that the Party and State always give high priority to ethnic policies and always supplement and perfect policies in order to meet the needs of reality, especially the aspiration for the development of all ethnic groups across the country.

According to the Deputy Prime Minister, in recent years, the system of ethnic policies has increasingly covered all fields and areas comprehensively, and closely adheres to reality; therefore, the spiritual and material life of ethnic minorities has been continuously improved.

Ethnic policies have been a prime concern for ministries, branches and localities to implement, such as timely support for residential land, production land, support for job change; arrangement and stabilization of the population; distribution of newspapers and magazines; rice provision; health insurance card support and health care services; dissemination and education of the law; support for gender equality activities; and investment in socio-economic development in ethnic minority areas.

The Standing Deputy Prime Minister asked localities to continue to closely follow and grasp the actual situation in ethnic minority areas and mountainous areas, especially about the lives of the people, the situation regarding disasters, epidemics, migration and security hotspots, for giving consultancy for the central agencies, the Government and the Prime Minister to issue suitable solutions to ensure stable lives, protecting the health and properties of the people./.
