Nearly VND1.6 billion mobilised to help poor pupils

The Hanoi Red Cross on December 12 received resources to support the model of "School to school - Love connection" and the campaign "Tet for the poor and victims of Agent Orange" in 2021.

Accordingly, the Hanoi Red Cross received donations of goods and cash worth nearly VND1.6 billion. From these resources, in the coming time, the city Red Cross will coordinate with agencies and localities to present computers, bicycles and school supplies to a number of schools in Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Ha Giang, Lang Son and Tuyen Quang provinces. Also in these localities, the agencies will give 300 lunar New Year 2021 gifts to those in difficult circumstances.

The model "School to school - Love connection", launched by the Vietnam Red Cross, the Ministry of Education and Training, and the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union from November 20, 2020 until the end of June 30, 2021, aims to support a number of schools in localities facing many difficulties, helping every child have the opportunity to go to school.

The movement "Tet for the poor and victims of Agent Orange" has been launched by the Red Cross for many years, collecting more than 2 million gifts for the poor and Agent Orange victims' families. In Hanoi, movements for the poor and people in difficult circumstances always receive the support of a large number of people./.
