The number of guest workers was seriously affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, according to MOLISA Deputy Minister Nguyen Ba Hoan.

It included 959 labourers to the Republic of Korea, 85 technical trainees to Japan, and 70 nurses to Germany.

Pham Ngoc Lan, COLAB Deputy Director, said that labourers were sent to foreign labour markets safely, without COVID-19 cases reported. Meanwhile, the Korean side agreed to resume reception of Vietnamese workers after more than 1 year of pause due to the impact of the pandemic.

“The cooperation relationship between the center and partners like HRD Korea, IM Japan, Vivantes Company, Osaka Association and Goethe Institute continues to be consolidated and developed,” said Ms Lan. “Along with that, the Center has closely coordinated and regularly kept in touch with Vietnamese Labour Management Agencies in the Republic of Korea, Japan, and Taiwan (China), to protect the employees' legitimate rights and interests.”

Currently, COLAB is implementing 5 programs to bring Vietnamese workers to work in the 4 labour markets of the Republic of Korea, Japan, Germany and Taiwan (China)./.
