At the congress, the Ministry of Health summarized the achievements of the sector over the past five years of 2015 - 2020. Specifically, the Ministry of Health has organized many patriotic emulation movements, many new products and practical new techniques to better serve the health care of patients.
Specifically, in 2015, the movement "Joining hands to reduce hospital overcrowding, improving the quality of health services to meet the satisfaction of the people" solved the overcrowding and sharing of hospital beds in over 80% of central hospitals. Since 2016, the movement "Reforming style and attitude of health workers towards patients’ satisfaction" has been deployed synchronously and comprehensively, such as providing support for patients, hotlines, and setting up a social affairs office to help people with difficulties and diseases.
Since 2017, the movement "Vietnam’s health sector reforms, towards patients’ satisfaction" aims to improve the quality of medical examination and treatment at the grassroots level, and successfully transfer many high technologies from the central level to the provincial level, helping people access advanced and modern treatment techniques.
In particular, the year 2020 is an impressive year for the health sector when it carries out the dual goal "Disease prevention and fighting and economic development". The health sector has strictly followed the "four on-the-spot" motto, including: On-site forces, on-site commanders, on-site vehicles, on-the-spot logistics to contribute to the treatment and reduction of COVID-19 infections.
At the ceremony, Acting Minister of Health Nguyen Thanh Long called on the whole health sector to continue communication and deeply grasping President Ho Chi Minh's thought on patriotic emulation.
Particularly, the sector focuses on fostering and improving professional ethics, sense of responsibility for cadres, civil servants and employees. Besides, the sector also strictly implements Directive 05-CT/TW of the Politburo on "Promoting studying and following President Ho Chi Minh’s thought, morality, style" associated with emulation movements launched by the Prime Minister.
Speaking at the congress, Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Mass Mobilization Truong Thi Mai highly appreciated that the health sector has enhanced its sense of responsibility, listened to and overcome limitations to continue to gain improvements.
According to Ms. Truong Thi Mai, in the coming time, the emulation movement of the health sector needs to continue to innovate, with clear goals, associated with the performance of the tasks of each individual and unit. At the same time, the health sector must also mobilize the synergy of the political system, and mobilize people to participate in the implementation of guidelines and policies on health care. Achieving the results will be a real success for the health sector.
At the congress, Acting Minister of Health Nguyen Thanh Long launched a patriotic emulation movement for the health sector in the period of 2020-2025 and joining hands for the poor, supporting people in the Central region affected by natural disasters./.
