According to EVN, customers who are tourist accommodation establishments and those who have warehouses enjoy power fee reduction from retail business prices to retail production prices.

In particular, all customers using electricity for daily life (equivalent to 26.6 million households) are entitled to a 10% discount on the electricity price of the first four steps of the retail electricity fee.

The EVN also makes 100% power fee reduction for facilities serving COVID-19 prevention and control, including those for isolation and medical examination for suspected and infected COVID-19 patients. A discount of 20% is applied for health facilities used for examination, testing and treatment of suspected and infected COVID-19 patients.

In 2020, although it was seriously affected by natural disasters and the COVID-19 pandemic, the EVN proactively proposed the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and relevant ministries and agencies on 2 electricity price and fee cut phases, with the expected total capital of over VND12.3 trillion.

By the end of 2020, the EVN completed the calculation for customers’ power fee and price reduction in October, November and December, 2020.

Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung, Chairman of the Vietnam Consumer Protection Association, affirmed that in the COVID-19 pandemic, some products have increased their prices; however, the electricity industry has decreased prices twice. “This is really a meaningful sharing for electricity consumers and establishments participating in COVID-19 prevention," he said./.
