Youth voluntteers at the launching ceremony
On June 28th, in the central province of Quang Binh, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee launched Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign 2020 under the theme “Young Vietnamese act creatively and voluntarily for the community”.
The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union targeted to repair and build 2,500 km of rural road, implement youth works at 800 streets in urban areas, provide medical check-ups and treatment to 200,000 people, build 700 gratitude houses and help 100,000 children from disadvantaged families.
The launching drew the participation of Standing Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh, 1,500 youth union members and local people.
Activities of the 2020 summer volunteer youth campaign should be arranged in an effective and innovative manner, while ensuring safety for participants amid the COVID-19 pandemic, said Mr Truong Hoa Binh.
He also asked ministries, sectors and local authorities to create optimal conditions for the successful implementation of the volunteer campaign in activities dedicated to policy beneficiaries, heroic Vietnamese mothers and vulnerable group, as well as residents in remote and mountainous, border and island regions, among others.

Under the campaign, volunteer teams will be set up to support 16 ethnic minority groups across the country.
