According to results announced on October 14th, apart from Secretary, the first session of the Executive Board of the Tien Giang Party Committee elected two Deputy Secretaries, including: Mr. Vo Van Binh (Standing Deputy Secretary of the Tien Giang Party Committee) and Mr. Nguyen Van Vinh (Head of the provincial Party Committee’s Commission for Internal Affairs).
Earlier, the 11th Tien Giang Party Congress directly elected 47 members to the Executive Board, while the Standing Board for the 2020-2025 term includes 15 members.
Mr. Nguyen Van Danh was born in Phuoc Thanh commune, My Tho city. He has a Bachelor of Politics and a Bachelor of Administrative Law. He has held positions of Standing Deputy Secretary of the 11th Party Committee, Chairman of the provincial People’s Council and Head of the National Assembly deputies delegation of Tien Giang.
Tien Giang is a coastal province in the South-western region. It covers 2,500 km2 and has a population of more than 1.7 million, ranking 14th nationwide. The province’s average economic growth reaches 7.3% per year, average GRDP per capita in 2020 is expected to reach VND58.6 million, up VND22.7 million compared to 2015.
Over the past term, Tien Giang has faced many challenges such as salinization and severe drought in 2016 and 2020, and illegal river sand exploitation. In early 2019, the provincial People’s Committee was assigned to be responsible for Trung Luong – My Thuan highway project after 10 years of suspension./.
