Buoi Ward in Tay Ho District, Hanoi, on April 20 held a ceremony to mark the 75th anniversary of Uncle Ho’s visit to Yen Thai Village on the occasion of the nation’s first general election of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam in 1946.

During the ceremony, Buoi Ward’s leaders and people reviewed memories about Uncle Ho’s visit to the village.
According to Pham Xuan Duc, Secretary of the Ward Party Committee, in the early days of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, the predecessor of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, as the country was newly escaped from 80 years of slavery under imperialist colonial rule and the provisional Government was still straining to lead the people against hunger, illiteracy and foreign invader at the same time, the leader of the country, President Ho Chi Minh, still spent time visiting some parts of Hanoi, including Buoi Ward.
“The visit was without flowers and welcome rituals, but full of people’s affection for the great beloved leader,” he said, recalling Uncle Ho’s encouragement for the ward to boost paper production.
The ceremony also presented awards to excellent followers of Uncle Ho’s example in accordance with the Politburo’s Directive 05 on studying and following President Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, morality and style; presented gifts to the poor; and launched an emulation campaign to welcome the election of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and People’s Council term 2021-2026 at all levels./.
