This is part of the contents mentioned in the 4th annual report on the implementation of the sustainable development goals (SDGs) announced by the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network and Germany’s Bertelsmann Stiftung Foundation.

The report puts forth indexes assessing the implementation of 17 SDGs of 162 countries and territories based on a scale of 0 points (worst) to 100 points (best) and ranking in high to low order.

According to the report, Denmark ranks 1st with 85.2 points while the Central African Republic ranks at the end of the list with 39.1 points.

The report also reveals that no country obtains the whole 17 SDGs. Although many countries officially adopted SDGs, 18 of 43 surveyed countries mentioned SDGs in the Government budget plans.

It notes that the use of land and food production has not met human needs, while the agricultural sector is destroying biodiversity, wasting water resources and accounting for 25% of gas emissions causing greenhouse effect in the world.

The report also shows that two billion people are undernourished, 800 million people lack food, while obesity rates increase and 33% of food production is wasted.

In order to thoroughly solve the problems that hinder progress in achieving the SDG, the report authors proposed transformation of production towards sustainable exploitation of land and food systems that balance the conservation of biodiversity, effective recovery and use of sustainable agriculture combined with forestry and healthy consumption./.
