Vietnam has cured over 992,000 COVID-19 cases

So far, Vietnam has cured over 992,000 cases of COVID-19, and continues to treat nearly 6,500 severe cases, the Ministry of Health reported on December 2.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, Vietnam has recorded more than 1.2 million cases, ranking 35th of 223 countries and territories. In terms of infections per one million, Vietnam ranked 149th of 223 countries and territories. 

On December 1, the Ministry of Health continued to direct localities to actively develop scenarios to respond to COVID-19 pandemic situations before the new Omicron variant of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, ensuring safe and flexible adaptation and effective control of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The average daily number of deaths recorded in the past 7 days was 172 cases.

The total number of deaths from COVID-19 in Vietnam so far is 25,448, accounting for 2% of the total number of infections.

The number of deaths per one million people ranked 133 of 224 countries and territories in the world. Compared with Asian countries, the total number of deaths ranked 9th of 49 (5th in ASEAN), while deaths per one million people ranked 27th of 49 Asian countries and territories (6th in ASEAN).

The number of tests administered from April 27, 2021 up to now has reached26,320,654 samples for 68,597,022 turns of people.

The total number of doses of COVID-19 vaccine that have been administered is 123,442,920 doses, of which 71,736,491 are 1st doses, and 51,706,429 are 2nd doses./.
