Singapore's Ministry of Manpower has just announced that from now until August 2022, this agency will pilot receiving Vietnamese workers working in Singapore in the construction, maritime and processing industries - in the form of work permit visas.

The average salary in the construction industry of Vietnamese workers under the pilot program is SGD768-840 per month. Notably, workers under this category will be provided with free accommodation by the employer. This regulation will provide many new opportunities for Vietnamese workers in Singapore.

Meanwhile, the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry has just announced a plan to recruit about 50,000 skilled workers from Southeast Asian countries, including Vietnam. Accordingly, the Japanese Government will help Japanese companies organize training sessions for workers before starting work, or organize online internships for about 50,000 people in the next 5 years. The Japanese Government's support for domestic enterprises in recruiting is to promote the competitiveness of companies in the context of scarce human resources in this country.

Besides, in the Republic of Korea, since the beginning of 2022, the Government announced increased efforts to attract more foreign citizens with high education. There will be changes to the visa system for foreigners who have completed a master's or doctoral program in this country.

Nguyen Ngoc Quynh, Vice Chairman of the VAMAS, said that in major markets such as Japan and the Republic of Korea, in addition to the programs that the two sides have signed, these countries are promoting the attraction of qualified and skilled human resources from Vietnam. This is a good sign, showing that Vietnamese workers have gradually asserted their skills and qualifications in the highly demanding markets in these developed countries.

According to Nr. Quynh, Vietnam has a lot of potential for manpower supply, bringing the country many opportunities, both in terms of foreign currency and in learning techniques and improving skills to help the country develop faster.

According to a report by the Department of Overseas Labour Management, in 2021, the whole country has more than 45,000 workers going to work abroad, equaling 57.3% compared to the same period in 2020.

In 2022, the department set the goal of sending 90,000 Vietnamese workers to work abroad./.
