“Dong Thap is a province with great potential in the Mekong Delta region. In order to strongly promote that potential, the training and development of high-quality human resources, the development of an innovative start-up team, and the application of high technology in the development of the local economy are important breakthroughs,” said Tran Hai Linh, Chairman of the Vietnam-Korea Business and Investment Association (VKBIA), during a recent signing ceremony on comprehensive cooperation with Dong Thap University.

Previously, the comprehensive cooperation for the joint program of education and training, and development of highly qualified and skilled human resources between the Vietnam - Korea Business & Investment Association (VKBIA) and Dong Thap University has been deployed.

The signing program is an opportunity to cooperate in education and training, technology transfer and human resource development, to meet the requirements of local socio-economic development.

The cooperation is aimed at expanding relationships with foreign-invested enterprises and domestic enterprises, developing cooperation opportunities in education and training, technology transfer and human resources development, in accordance with the development strategy of the university, promoting the development and supply of high-quality labour resources for businesses according to the labour market demand.

At the same time, VKBIA and Dong Thap University will coordinate to develop and build an education and training system suitable to the needs of industries and fields of industrial technology and high-tech agriculture; to build and develop research groups for strongly growing industry groups and in line with the realities of society, applying the Korean model of education and training, research and development of science and technology, and high-tech application.

Dr. Pham Hai Dinh, Vice President of the Vietnam - Korea Experts and Intellectuals Association (VKEIA), said that VKEIA has nearly 1,000 members who are experts, professors, doctors and MScs living and working in the Republic of Korea and other developed countries in the world. “It will accompany and contribute to the cause of education, training and development of quality human resources in Vietnam,” he added.

Dr. Ho Van Thong, Rector of Dong Thap University, said that the cooperation between VKBIA and Dong Thap University will bring practical effects to the development of both sides, contributing to the development of quality human resources in the coming time. “This is also a premise for Dong Thap University to increase the application of training and education models from developed countries in the world with Vietnam, thereby contributing to promoting the ever-growing knowledge economy, strengthening international cooperation, and supporting human resource development for Dong Thap, developing the Mekong Delta cluster in the process of global integration," he added./.
