(CPV) - As many as 8 teams will compete for the 2018 VTV9 - Binh Dien International Women's Volleyball Cup, hosted by Central Quang Nam province from May 12th-20th.
Three local teams are VTV Binh Dien - Long An, Thong tin Lien Viet Post, Vietcombank and five international ones are Jiangsu and Fujian from China, BIP from US, Almaty from Kazakhstan and the national team of the Philippines.
Referees and supervisors will come from the Vietnam Volleyball Federation (VVF).
The hosting province is doing its best for the success of the event, including infrastructure and popularization activities.
The opening ceremony is set to begin at 19h30 on May 12th.
Besides, the organizing board will assist Quang Nam province with VND1 billion for social security programs.
Since 2006, the VTV9 - Binh Dien International Women's Volleyball Cup has become an international women's volleyball tournament organised by the VVF, and sponsored by Vietnam Television - VTV9 and Binh Dien Long An.
Last year’s tour in Tay Ninh province witnessed the victory of 4-year-old Bangkok Glass Volleyball Club (a Thai professional volleyball club based in Pathum Thani province and managed by BG FC Sport Co., Ltd. which is a subsidiary of Bangkok Glass Group of Companies), and the runner up was VTV Binh Dien Long An (a Vietnam women's volleyball team from Long An, founded in 1986 and playing in the Vietnam League)./.
