No health declaration needed for entrance to SEA Games

The Department of Preventive Medicine under the Ministry of Health has just issued an official dispatch to the Vietnam Sports Administration on stopping the medical declaration requirement for COVID-19 at SEA Games 31.

SEA Games 31 will take place on May 12 - 23 in Vietnam with 40 sports being held in Hanoi and 11 neighboring cities and provinces.

Previously, on April 14, 2022, the Ministry of Health issued an official dispatch guiding the prevention and control of COVID-19 for SEA Games 31, including the conditions for medical declaration for people on entry to serve as a basis for localities to meet the requirements of COVID-19 prevention and control.

Following the direction of the Prime Minister and the current situation of the COVID-19 pandemic in Vietnam, the Ministry of Health has issued Official Dispatch 2118/BYT-DP on the temporary suspension of the health declaration requirement at border gates for COVID-19, including the temporary suspension of medical declaration for COVID-19 at all border gates of Vietnam for people entering Vietnam since April 27.

Therefore, all people entering Vietnam to participate in and attend  SEA Games 31 also do not have to declare health with COVID-19.

SEA Games 31 is a multi-sport event taking place in Vietnam from May 12 to 23, 2022. There are 40 sports, mainly those that are contested at the Asian Games and the Olympics. This is the second time Vietnam has hosted the SEA Games since 2003. The capital Hanoi will play the main role and 11 neighboring provinces and cities, including Bac Ninh, Hai Phong, Hai Duong, Quang Ninh, Ha Nam, Nam Dinh, Ninh Binh, Hoa Binh, Vinh Phuc, Bac Giang and Phu Tho, will be the venues for the competitions./.
