Visitors buying tours at the festival

This is the first time the four-day event was attended by 50 out of 63 provinces and cities and 96 tourism, services and cuisine businesses.

With more than 150 pavilions, tours linking HCM City with the Mekong Delta and other localities in the south were promoted for the first time.

To bolster domestic travel, promotions and discounts of 30 percent on various tourism products were available.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh city Department of Tourism said that tourism businesses and travel agencies joining the festival focused on promoting products which stimulate domestic tourism and offering promotional programs.

According to preliminary statistics from the business community, the event saw more than 9,300 successful transactions mainly focusing on tours linking with the Northwest, Northeast, Central region, Mekong Delta and Southeast. In addition, revenue of tourism, services and cuisine businesses also reached more than VND40 billion.

The Ho Chi Minh city Tourism Festival aims to stimulate domestic tourism; creating opportunities for customers to visit and discover landscapes of the country. This is also a practical activity to remove difficulties for resorts, businesses and service providers in the southern city./.
