ITE HCMC 2019 to attract over 350 exhibitors

(CPV) - The International Travel Expo Ho Chi Minh city (ITE HCMC) 2019 targets attracting more than 350 exhibitors, a 40% rise from 2018, with a display area increasing 55%, said the city Department of Tourism in a press conference on March 28th, in Hanoi.

In his speech, Mr. Le Truong Hien Hoa, Director of the Ho Chi Minh city Tourism Promotion Center, said ITE HCMC will celebrate its 15th anniversary on September 5th-7th at Sai Gon Exhibition and Convention Center.

The event is expected to lure 250 high-quality foreign buyers from outbound travel agencies from more than 40 countries and territories, especially from four key markets: North America, Southeast Asia, Northeast Asia and Europe, in order to create breakthroughs in tourism promotion from 2019-2020, he added. 

It is forecast to be attended by 20 Vietnamese outbound buyers, attracting about 35,000 visitors, a year-on-year rise of 25%. 

The expo will have trade activities at booths to introduce destinations and tourism products of Vietnam and Asia-Pacific countries; a meeting program between sellers and foreign buyers, visitors.

Travel agencies will introduce and promote recreation tourism, conference tourism, cuisine tourism, health-care tourism, cultural tourism, cruise ship tourism, new products tourism and tourism technology in order to support start-up and discount programs.

On the sidelines, ITE HCMC will have a tourism cooperation conference between Vietnam and Germany, a cruise ship tourism conference, Start-up tourism forum and a photo exhibition.

ITE HCMC, first organized in 2005, is the largest and most established annual international travel trade event in the Mekong sub-region, featuring services and products for both inbound and outbound markets, attracting hundreds of international exhibitors and hosted buyers. It is also the only travel event endorsed by the Tourism Alliance of all five countries in the Mekong Region./.
