Vietnam nominated for 11 categories in 2020 World Travel Awards

(CPV) - The 2020 World Travel Awards (WTA) is opening a voter portal at www.worldtravelawards.com and Vietnam is nominated for 11 categories.
The capital city Hanoi was shortlisted as 2020 Asia’s Leading City Break Destination

The organizers of the 2020 WTA have announced that the voting period for Asia will be from June 15th to September 24th, 2020.

The categories to which Vietnam is nominated include: Leading City Break Destination, Leading Cultural City Destination, Leading Culinary Destination, Leading Cultural Destination, Leading Destination, Leading Heritage Destination, Leading Nature Destination, Leading River Cruise Destination, Leading Sustainable Tourism, Leading Tourist Board and Leading Youth Travel Destination.

The capital city Hanoi was shortlisted as Asia’s Leading City Break Destination, while the ancient city of Hoi An in the central province of Quang Nam was chosen to be in the race for Asia’s Leading Cultural City Destination.

The WTA have been described as the “Oscars of the travel industry”. The annual awards aim to honor outstanding destinations and quality services providers with categories nominated for aviation, hotels, resorts, travel agencies and destinations. 

In 2019, the 26th WTA for Asia and Oceania took place in Phu Quoc Island, Kien Giang province. Vietnam was honored in four categories: Asia’s Leading Destination, Asia’s Leading Cultural Destination, Asia’s Leading Culinary Destination and Asia’s Leading Cultural City Destination./.
