The biennial conference was attended by more than 120 delegates who are leaders of the three localities and tourism enterprises.

In her opening remarks, Ms. Vu Thi Thu Thuy, Deputy Chairwoman of the Quang Ninh provincial People’s Committee, said the event aimed to summarize the implementation of action plans on tourism cooperation among the three sides in the world heritages triangle in the 2014-2015 period, and sign actions plans for the following period.

The three sides also discussed updating tourism information through communications; intensifying promotion and organizing more routes; studying and sharing experience on training human resource on management and developing tourist products. Project teams of the world heritage triangle will be established in each locality after the conference.

In addition, they also conferred about building a logo for the world heritage triangle, and cooperation with television broadcasters of the three sides to promote the images of landscapes and people and tourism through the heritages.

Currently, Luang Prabang and Udon Thani have airports, while Van Don airport in Quang Ninh is being shaped, thus, the air connection among the three localities will help tourists travel to the heritages more conveniently, Ms. Thuy stressed.

More and more tourists are flocking to the three destinations. Specifically, in the first half of the year, Quang Ninh welcomed nearly 6 million visitors, in which over 1.9 million were foreign tourists. Meanwhile Luang Prabang greeted over 600,000 tourists, including 400,000 foreign ones, and over 3.2 million visited Udon Thani with 140,000 being foreign visitors./.
