Ben Tre: Five products granted geographical indications

The Mekong Delta province of Ben Tre has been granted certificate of protection of geographical indications by the Ministry of Science and Technology’s National Office of Intellectual Property for five typical products.

This information has been announced by Mr. Nguyen Van Vu, Head of the Ben Tre Department of Science and Technology’s Scientific Management Department.
Accordingly, the five products include Ben Tre green skin pomelo, Ben Tre coconut, Cai Mon durian, Ben Tre sea crab and Ben Tre crayfish.
The department is developing geographical indications for other products, which are Thanh Phu rice and Ben Tre clams.
These are potential products with many competitive advantages in domestic and foreign markets, opening up many development opportunities for the local economy. Ben Tre is one of the few provinces and cities possessing many unique and valuable products./.
