According to the latest information from the General Department of Customs, from the beginning of the year to March 15, Vietnam exported 452,163 tons of coffee, worth more than 1 billion USD.

Coffee export volume increased by more than 22% compared to the same period last year, while export turnover soared by 54.44%.

The growth in turnover was higher than the output, so the average export value of coffee products also increased to 2,237 USD per ton, up 26.45%, equivalent to nearly 500 USD per ton.

Currently, Vietnam’s coffee export market is very diverse, spreading across many continents. Major markets include Germany, Belgium, Italy, Japan, the UK, and the US.

With this impressive start, coffee has surpassed the group of vegetables and fruit to rank 3rd in terms of turnover in the agricultural sector, just after timber and aquatic products. These are also three commodity groups reaching the “billion-dollar turnover” milestone of the agricultural sector from the beginning of the year to March 15./.
